Ohafia Council Boss pledges to rebuild Amangwu Community daily market

The Executive chairman of Ohafia LGA, Dr Okorafor Ukiwe  has promised to rebuild the Amangwu community daily market to enable the resumption of economic activities.

The chairman made the statement during a scheduled visit to the community to asses the impact of the recent clash between the military and some unknown gunmen in the community.

Dr. Ukiwe while speaking at the palaces of HRH.Eze (Dr) A.A. Obobi, The Eze of Amangwu Anaga Uka Autonomous Community and  Ezie Ogo Mecha Ugbu, the Ezie Ogo of Amangwu Community, respectively, sympathised with the people of Amangwu for the loss of lives and properties during the unfortunate incident. He highlighted roles played by the state Government under the leadership of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in ensuring that peace returned to the council. 

He also emphasized on the need sustain peace and human capital development, even as he thanked the governor for funding the skill acquisition project aimed at empowering youths of the council.

Accompanying the chairman on the visit is Hon Kalu Emeghe, former Commissioner, Local Government Service Commission and an indigene of Amangwu Community, Hon Ebin Kalu Ebin, the councillor representing Okamu ward, Hon Ndukwe Nchege, Supervisory Councillor for Education, Ohafia Local Govt Council and several others.
