Pensioners hail Gov. Ikpeazu for prompt payment

State pensioners in Arochukwu local government area of Abia State have expressed gratitude to Gov Okezie IKPEAZU for the prompt and regular payment of their pensions. 

They also commended the state commissioner for finance, Dr Aham Uko for diligently executing the directives of the governor regarding pensions payment.

The pensioners made their feelings known when they paid a courtesy visit to the Provost of Abia State College of Education Technical Arochukwu, Dr Phillips Nto at his country home in Ututu. 

Led by a retired principal,Mr Nzere Okore Nzere, the retirees urged Dr Nto to personally convey their appreciation to Governor Okezie IKPEAZU and his finance commissioner, Dr Aham Uko. 

According to them, since the commissioner assumed duties, he has made the payment of pensions a priority thus appreciating the services of the elders. 

They noted that the pensioners did not feel the negative impact of the pandemic because of the compassion of the Governor. 

They explained that they had to publicly acknowledge the good works of the Governor through his commissioner so as to encourage them to do more. 

Responding, Dr Phillips Nto described the gesture of the pensioners as touching and promised to deliver their message to the Governor.
