The Arochukwu Kingdom PDP stakeholders met yesterday and mutually agreed to work harmoniously to move the party forward.

The meeting was called at the instance of the Transition Committee Chairman of Arochukwu Local Government Area, Mazi (Hon.) Jideofor Kanu.

In his speech, Mazi Jideofor Kanu thanked the stakeholders in the kingdom for their tremendous support, advice and words of encouragement on his appointment as the T. C Chairman of Arochukwu LGA. The chairman equally used the medium to sincerely thank the Almighty God, the amiable Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu (PhD), The Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Engr) Chinedum Orji and Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole of the Federal House of Representatives who contributed in no small measures in ensuring his appointment.

Mazi Jideofor Kanu emphasized that the major reason for the interactive session with the stakeholders in the kingdom is to discuss and look inwards on the fortunes and misfortunes of our dear party in terms of performances in the last couple of years and holistically look for a way to plug back what the locust have eaten.

"It is no longer news that our once vibrant party has fallen from the hilltop since 2015 to 2019, where we performed abysmally in the last two General elections (2015-2019), owing duly to numerous problems bedevilling the party, ranging from efforts by some leaders to appropriate the party as their personal property, sole decision makers, dishing out appointments to their cronies and pro group members only, while the party and its members were rendered redundant, but only remembered when elections beckons. These actions enumerated above led to situation where party faithfuls left the party in droves and others 'Sidon dey look' as monkey dey work and baboon dey chop".
He admonished party members who went to court on the Ward and LGA Congresses that have come and gone to retrace their steps and assist the new party leadership to reposition the party in the LGA to chart a new course. Urging them to put their differences behind, rebuild the party to reclaim our lost glory.

The newly elected LGA party Chairman, Hon. Okemini Odum Sunday who attended the meeting called for peace and urged party faithfuls to support his administration as he promised Aro kingdom stakeholders to reestablish the strong bond and political ties between the Aro kingdom and Abam Onyerubi respectively.
