Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has tasked the state Street Light Installation and Maintenance Agency (ASSLIMA) to enhance the street lightning initiative of the administration.

Ikpeazu stated this while handing over a brand new Hilux Van to the director general (DG) of the ASSLIMA, Sir Tony Ezebuiro at the government house, Umuahia.

Represented by his chief of Staff (CoS), Barr Anthony Agbazuere, he maintained that the initiative has enhanced economic activities and reduced crime in the state drastically.

Ikpeazu, who underscored the passion of his administration for the initiative and the impact it has made on the cities so far, expressed the hope that the DG will deliver on the mandate.

Speaking after receiving the keys to the van, Ezebuiro thanked the governor for the gesture, assuring that it will be used judiciously in the pursuit of the ASSLIMA’s mandate.

He said the ASSLIMA does not limit itself to the mandate, but also liaises with other agencies or persons with similar agenda as well as ensures the lights are properly maintained.

Ezebuiro further revealed that the ASSLIMA had been working hard to improve on the dynamics of the society and extending the period of the light beyond six in the morning.
