Ugwuanyi Charges Media on Accurate Reportage

Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has called on the Nigerian media especially those in the Southeast to promote excellent civil media public relations and maintain accurate reportage of activities of the military especially the operation Atilogwu Udo 1 in the Southeast.
The Governor made the appeal at a Civil-Media-Civil Relations Summit at Enugu State.
The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Simon Otuanya said he has confidence in the media to create better understanding between the military, public and media towards attaining the objectives of the summit.
He said the activities of the military should be reported in a way to promote the unity of the nation owing to its sensitive and delicate nature of their operations rather than wage war.
Governor Ugwuanyi noted that the crucial influence of the mass media in shaping public opinion especially through news reportage and commentaries cannot be over emphasized and reminded the media to be fair and objective in its reportage and analysis of event especially as it affects the activities of the military.  
While commending the vision and wisdom of the military in organizing the summit, Governor Ugwuanyi apprecaiated the military and media for their unalloyed support for his administration and promised to continue to support them to enable them to exercise their duties effectively and efficiently.
Ugwuanyi revelaed efforts of the state government in ensuring the security of lives and property in the state, revealing that it is yielding the desired results with over 1000 vehicles released to security agents while the forest guard are currently undergoing training.
He said Enugu state will continue to place premium on the security of lives and property of citizens in the state, he also
commended the army for their gallantry and  sacrifices in their efforts to make Nigeria better. 
The event was organized by the department of Army Public Relations, 82 Division, Enugu.
