To debunk false claims of achievements by public office holders, their political opponents have been advised to take a tour of the projects sites, in company of journalists to establish the veracity or otherwise of such claims.
Chief Press Secretary to Abia State Governor, Mr. Onyebuchi Ememanka, in an interview with The Guardian berated politicians that take pleasure in condemning office holders without taking pains to visit the alleged project sites of such executed projects.
Ememanka, who made reference to an allegation leveled by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in the 2015 and 2019 polls, Dr. Alex Otti, who while addressing journalists in Lagos said that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s claims on executed projects were untrue.
He said Otti should have addressed Abia-based journalists, who have details of projects being executed in the state.“For Otti to choose to address Lagos-based journalists, who are probably not aware of activities in Abia State, and allege that Ikpeazu has not performed commendably captures his mindset,” he said.
Ememanka who said the governor was addressing infrastructure challenges facing the state, described as mischievous and wicked, insinuations by Otti that Ikpeazu has not done anything in Abia State.
