Former General Manager of the Abia State ENvironmental Protection Agency and the All Progressive Congress APC candidate for House of Representatives, Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency at the 2019 election, Martins Apugo has denied the allegation leveled against him by Victor Apugo, the embattled GM.

Victor in a statement released by his media aide, Ibe Vincent Ogbonnaya attributed the agency’s non performance to poor funding. According to him, under the regime of Rt. Hon Cosmos Ndukwe, the agency received a whooping sum of 200 million naira and above  as monthly subvention, whiles the regime of Hon Martins Apugo, came to about 66/70 million naira monthly. But under Hon Victor Apugo it started revolving around 22 million till date.

This claim has however been refuted by Cosmos Ndukwe, who also threatened a law suit should the falsehood continue, read here.

Hon. Martins Apugo, in a release personally signed by him said the figures of monthly subvention he was receiving during his regime released by Victor Apugo through his aide was false.

He said after ASEPA Aba zone was carved out he was receiving 22 million naira not 66/70 million from the administration of former Governor T.A Orji, and also the period he served under the administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

According to him, "22 million naira Hon Victor Apugo claimed he is receiving was the same amount I was receiving as ASEPA GM after Aba zone was carved out."

He regretted why today’s ASEPA should be trading on falsehood and also blaming their non performance to paucity of fund and asked them to bury their face in shame and stop spreading false information.
