The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Zamfara state, Alhaji Sani Abdulahi Shinkafi, has threatened to go to court over former Governor Abdulaziz Yari’s alleged fraud.

It should be noted that the APGA governorship candidate on Monday, July 1, accused Yari of leaving the state in debts.

In a further petition to the EFCC which was on Friday, July 5, Shinkafi said the former governor is financially reckless as he stole Zamfara state funds.

“I call on the commission, as a matter of urgency, to invite the former governor Abdulaziz Yari and his co-travellers involved in the financial recklessness, fraudulent practices in the looting of the funds belonging to the good people of Zamfara state,” he said.

Shinkafi also accused the former governor of illegally awarding of rural electrification contract of N25 billion to a company without due process. He said the contract is in violation of the provisions of Procurement Act 2007, and that EFCC should also investigate the contract for the construction of township roads across 14 local governments of the state.
