The National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA), Victor Oye, has reacted to the invasion and attack of members of the party by Alex Otti's factional excos.

In an open letter titled:'DON'T PAY EVIL WITH EVIL' written to the state party Chairman, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere and his excos, Oye described the unfortunate invasion as detestable and unforgivable. He further urged party members to remain calm and await further directives.

The letter reads: "We (I and the entire APGA Family) received with shock the sad news of the unfortunate invasion of the Abia State Chapter Office Complex of our great party on Friday, June 7, 2019 by some hireling and miscreants purportedly organized and unleashed on hapless members of the state exco by a former governorship candidate of the party in the state for reasons best known to him.

"The action as detestable and unforgivable as it was came barely one week after a successful National Convention of our party held in Awka, Anambra State.

"Instead of aligning themselves with the rare feat achieved at the convention this band of urchins goaded by their desperate paymaster chose the path of infamy by resorting to self-help after failing to hijack the machinery of the party in Abia State for their usual egocentric adventures.

"There is no doubt whatsoever that the untidy event of June 7, 2019 has only succeeded in strengthening our resolve to restructure the party and restore the years eaten by locusts.

"It is not arguable that the desperation exhibited by the hoodlums and their sponsors underpins their inglorious and invidious plot to destabilise our party before they finally defect to another party.

"We are not worried by their underhand scheming to join another political party, because it will be good riddance to bad rubbish. We only commiserate with them on the shame and opprobrium their ill-advised action will bring upon them.

"APGA as a peace-loving and responsible political party will not take any form of retaliatory or reprisal action but will rather leave everything in the hands of God who rewards every action of man - good or bad - with equal recompense.

"We urge you and your executive members to remain calm and await further directives from the national leadership of our party.

"Much as we believe in legality and constitutionality, we will not hesitate to apply every legitimate means to ensure that our members are not mindlessly harrassed and intimidated as happened last Friday.

"We have the capacity to safeguard the interest and welfare of our members in Abaia State from the paws of ravenous wolves masquerading as democrats.

"We thank God for unmasking at this auspicious time the pretentious and chamelonic elements in Abia State that had held the party hostage over the years for their self-aggrandizement.

"The plan to take APGA to the next level in Abia State has now commenced with increased vigour, focus and determination. We commend you and the numerous members of our party in  Abia State for staying calm in the face of last Friday's provocation and for standing firm behind the party.

"You should remain resolute and unwavering as the wind of liberation is already blowing. We assure you of our cooperation, solidarity and support as we work together to redirect the overall vision of the party to turn it into a winning machine early enough for the 2023 general election.God bless us all."

Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Ike Oye,  NATIONAL CHAIRMAN, APGA
