Following the election of a factional State working Committee(SWC) in the All progressive Grand Alliance(APGA), the Nkem Okoro led Executives has taken over the party’s secretariat at 74 School Road, off Ikot Ekpene Road, Umuahia,

The state working committee accompanied by the party’s supporters had earlier visited the Abia state commissioner of police to notify him of the development.

Speaking with Newsmen, Okoro said his team has renewed the rent of the property and has duly moved in to use the place as APGA Secretariat as he claimed that the Otti-led faction of the party was the authentic APGA in Abia.

Confirming the incident, the secretary, Ehiemere-led faction of the party, Mr. Onukwubiri expressed regret over the action of the Okoro-led faction.

He stated that he had arrived at the Secretariat of the party for a meeting and a press conference scheduled to take place 9am on Friday.

According to Onukwubiri, the Okoro-led faction forcefully broke into the state Secretariat of the party, insisting that the Ehiemere-led faction must accept the former gubernatorial candidate of the party, Dr. Alex Otti as the state leader of the party, claiming that the said property also belongs to Dr. Otti.

He denied the claim, saying that the Ehiemere-led faction had earlier in the year rented the said property which is billed to expire in December.

He said he was held hostage by the alleged invaders who later released him.
