The Governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Umuahia today, dismissed two petitions challenging the re-election of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu as Governor of Abia state by the duo of Bar.Kelenna Ogbonna and his party African Democratic Congress (ADC).Also dismissed were the petition of Action People's Party (APP).

Both petitioners were urging the tribunal to nuliffy Ikpeazu's election on the basis of unlawful exclusion of their respective Governorship candidates",

Speaking to newsmen, legal aide to the Governor, Bar.Chukwuemeka Eze said: "this is a very big victory for the Governor and indeed all Abians.".

In a related development, the petitions of the defeated Governorship Candidates of
All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Mr. Alex Otti and All Progressives Congress' Uche ogah's petitions were subsequently adjourned to May 27,2019 for pre trial conference.

Political observers predict that Ikpeazu will again floor his opponents, since he roundly defeated them by landslide in the March 9,2019 Governorship Elections.
