Enyimba striker, Chimezie Amanfor has said there will not be any going back in his goal scoring performance in the ongoing league season.

The former Akwa United hitman scored the first goal in his side 4-0 demolition of former champions, Bayelsa United in Sunday’s Glo Premier League match day 27 in Aba which incidentally was his very first goal of the season.

Amanfor said the crucial goal against Bayelsa United was a breakthrough of a sort for his goal scoring career and he intends to up the performance when his side confront Lobi Stars in Wednesday’s match day 28 tie at the Emmanuel Atoung Stadium, Katsina Ala.

“It was really a dream come true for me scoring my first ever goal of the season against Bayelsa United, I’ve keenly looked forward to it and I’m unarguably the happiest person on mother earth at the moment.

“I’ve had limited playing hours which somehow affected my ability to score goals but right now I feel the jinx has been broken and my breakthrough is here with me I’m certain to score more goals before the league ends.

“I’m now gingered to go all out to score goals and I hope to increase my goal tally in the midweek game at Lobi Stars in Katsina Ala.

“The winning momentum is quite high for my side as the massive win against Bayelsa United has boosted our confidence to go for another win at Lobi.

“Lobi Stars have always been a difficult side but we’re positive to come back from the encounter unscathed.

“We’ve got our bearing right and can only continue to aspire for the leadership of the league table, we’re inches away but in no distant time we’ll take our pride of place at the summit,” said Amanfor to supersport.com.

The Peoples Elephant departed their Aba base on Monday to Katsina Ala for the Wednesday’s encounter.

Enyimba are third on the league table on 43 points from possible 81 at the conclusion of week 27 matches of the Nigerian topflight.
