NFF okays September 30 for elections

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) extra-ordinary general assembly on Saturday approved Tuesday, September 30 as date for the its elective congress in Warri, Delta State.

The congress unanimously affirmed the Fifa’s directive that the 2014 elective congress shall be composed of only delegates that attended the November 2013 annual general assembly in Warri.

The communiqué signed by Sir, E.C. Chukwuemeka said the congress passed a resolution that a credible and transparent electoral process is non-negotiable.

The congress set up a new NFF electoral committee composed of Barr Samson Ebomhe, Barr M. T. Ahmed, Adamu Sani Usman, Sadiq Yusuf Zaria, Reverend Onyeaghala Obioma, Engr Adeola Adelanwa, Sani Dahiru Yakassai, Mrs Sarah Jumoke Adebisi and Barr Awwal Mohammed. The Secretary is Barr Musa Amadu.

It equally constituted an electoral appeals committee made up of Barr Okey Ajunwa, Dotun Coker and Mallam Sani Mohammed. The duo of Victor Nwangwu and Bala Garba are substitute members while the secretary is Dr Mohammed Sanusi.

The congress poured encomium on the outgoing NFF president, Alhaji Aminu Maigari for his courage and resilience in the face of the recent crisis that threatened the fabric of Nigerian football.
