Police Declare Lagos Trader Wanted For Murder Of Enugu Monarch

The Police on Wednesday declared Chijioke Okenwa, a Lagos-based businessman, wanted in connection with the murder of Igwe Stephen Nwatu, the traditional ruler of Ogbovine community, Nkanu West Local government Area of Enugu State.

Ebere Amaraizu, the spokesman of Enugu State Police Command, declared Okenwa wanted in a statement.

According to Amaraizu, the state’s police command has intensified manhunt for one Chijioke Nnona Okenwa over his alleged role with other cohorts in the dastardly act.

Amaraizu, a Superintendent of Police, said a warrant of arrest had been issued against the principal suspect and his cohorts.

The statement read in part: “Chijioke Nnaona Okenwa is about 48 years old with average height, dark in complexion and from Ogbovine autonomous community of Akpugo, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, and with his shop address said to be situated at DD111 Alaba International Market, Ojo Lagos State, and he speaks English and Igbo languages.

“The state command of the Nigeria police Force is advising members of the public with useful information about how the suspect can be traced to report to any nearby police station or contact the command through the following telephone numbers of 08032003702, 08075390883, 08086671201 and 08098880172 or through the command twitter page of @POLICENG Enugu or Face book address of Nigereiapoliceforceenugustatecommand,” he stated.

Amaraizu disclosed that some arrests had been made following the incident and those nabbed were helping the operatives in investigations.
