Abia high court sitting at Okpuala Ngwa has sacked the executive council of the branch of the All Progressive Congress led by Hon. Donatus Nwankpa.

Justice C. U. Okoroafor who handed over the sack order while ruling in an ex parte motion, directed the party’s national leadership led by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, to stop dealing with the Nwankpa and Barr. Menyechi Onuoha and other members of the Abia executive committee pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.

According to Vanguard, some members of the party, including Mr. Fabian Okonkwo, Engr Chris Okpechi, and Hon Onyebuchi Igodo had in a suit number NO: HIN/4/2018 dragged the APC, its national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the Abia State chairman, Hon Donatus Nwankpa and three others to court challenging the legality of Nwankpa’s executive committee.

“The first to fourth respondents are restrained from dealing with the factional list of state, LGA and ward delegates sent to the national secretariat of the APC in Abuja by the Nwankpa- led state exco in any manner until the substantive suit is determined”, the court ordered.

Meanwhile, the faction that instituted the suit has appointed   Dr. Emmanuel Aguzie Ndukwe as the party’s interim chairman.

However, Donatus Nwankpa has dismissed the action of Ndukwe and others as “irresponsible act by a group of lunatics.

“People should ignore them; they are frustrated politicians who want to be noticed; they should be disregarded”.

The new chairman, Ndukwe has accused Nwankpa of running to money bags in the state and allegedly collecting money from them in the name of the party and thereafter,  turning leaders of the party against the laid downs rules of the APC.

“In view of his actions which are against the party, the party met on the 25th of November 2017 and suspended him and later went to court which granted an order restraining the national office of our party and others to stop recognizing him as Abia APC chairman.”
