Nigerian Police Force Begins Training On Counter Terrorism

The Inspector General of Police, Mr Idris Abubakar, has charged officers of the force to work in synergy with other agencies to achieve a crime free society.

 

The IGP who gave the advice at the official opening of a five day training program for officers drawn from four states of the federation, under the Zone 9 command, noted that many agencies have roles to play in crisis management.

 

The officers who were drawn from Abia, Imo, Enugu, and Anambra state commands are in Abia state for the 5 day training on counter terrorism.

 

Speaking while officially declaring the training open, the inspector General of Police, who was represented by AIG Hassan Karma said the training was to sharpen their skills and talents alongside other agencies especially on counter terrorism operations in line with global best practices.

 

He noted that those attending the training are between the ranks of Deputy Superintendent of Police and Chief Superintendent of Police because of their role in crisis management and called on them to work in synergy with other agencies for a better outcome.

 

Other agencies in attendance were the FRSC, NEMA, and NSCDC.
