In his address to the Speaker and his entourage, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu commended the Speaker for his maturity in handling his legislative duties. He stated that Abia State is open for investment and acknowledged that through the efforts of the National Assembly, the crusade to promote made in Aba brands has gained greater momentum.
While enumerating opportunities available to investors in Abia State, Governor Ikpeazu revealed that his Government has acquired nine thousand hectares of land for industrialization. According to him, the mapped out area is strategically located for easy access to other neighboring States. He further stated that Abia State Government is poised to make land available for serious investors who are interested in growing their business in the state.
The Governor who commended two members of his cabinet who were the Speaker's former colleagues at the National Assembly, Hon.Uzo Azubuike (Agriculture) and Hon.Ezuiche Ubani (Works) for the experience they brought to bear on Agricultural improvement and road construction efforts of his administration in the State, promised that he will continue to maintain the good relationship between him and Abians at the national assembly.
In his speech, Rt.Hon.Yakubu Dogara informed the Governor that they are in Abia State to celebrate and commission projects attracted to the state by Hon.Ossy Prestige (Aba North/South) since he was inaugurated in 2015.
According to him, the visit also reminded him of his first time in Aba, when he visited Ariaria international to buy garment materials as a Youth corps member posted to Akwaibom.
While commending the Governor for his efforts in tackling insecurity in the State, Hon.Dogara stated that Nigerians are aware of the all round solid foundation Governor Ikpeazu is laying in the development of the State.
In his words "The Spirit of Aba should be the Nigerian spirit. Nigeria should emulate the ideas of Aba in terms of innovation.
Aba has never lacked in ideas. This is the home of Made in Nigeria. It is therefore important we take the State serious. Aba is the right environment for Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs".
He thanked the Governor for finding his former colleagues worthy to serve in his Government.
