Start-up weekend Abia was preceded by a Netpreneur workshop. Some of the participants who spoke about their experience at the event had these to say:

Aniche Sochi, Final year student of physics

“My brother told me about this program and since I started coming, it’s as if I’ve been wasting years in school. I had no idea that what I’ve been taught in this workshop exist. Believe me, the force am going to use to pursue this, poverty will be far from me. Poverty is already crying because am going to use full force to pursue this. Many thanks to the organizers for bringing this to Abia state”

“It’s been wonderful here. With the start-up weekend having netpreneur workshop is amazing. Several guys I told about this event since Friday when I stepped into Abia came for this program. Most of them became members of my team. Everyday I have new followers coming here for this event. I have made up my mind to see how I can do a step down in Imo state, Enugu, wherever I find myself because this workshop is mind-blowing.  It’s a big thing. The ICTHub itself (referring to the e-library) is wonderful. I didn’t know we have something like this in the east. The only place I know that has a magnificent hub as this is Lagos. That was when I went for training in calabar and there was this Mr. Kolawole that was telling us about it. I was wondering where we can have something like that. Didn’t know Abia has it. Thanks to our governor for this opportunity.”

“I finished serving in Abia state. Actually am very pessimistic right from onset. When I stayed back; I’ve come across this internet marketing before I came here. I’ve bought e-books, and other materials but I will always say I need to go to Lagos to organize seminars. Getting this training is like a jackpot of my life. I know how much attending workshops such as this cost in Lagos. I want to thank the governor for this kind of initiative. For not restricting it to Abians but making it open for youths from other states living in Abia. Kudos to our Governor.”

Ezeofor Kelechi

“Me and a couple of my friends came here just to take pictures of what is happening here and upload on social media. We stumbled upon what’s happening, we registered. Attended start-up and now I feel like I can do anything. I feel like I can be precious Ndu( an Abian who makes millions in internet marketing). I love this program. Am not from Abia, am from Anambra and I feel that this is something, if done on a bigger platform, poverty will be far from us. This is because I believe that anybody ho has access to this information can do the unimaginable. Thank you very much”.
