Thirty-five (35) Communities Benefit From Abia CSDP Fund

Thirty-five (35) communities in the state has benefitted from the Abia State Agency for Community and Social Development Project, CSDP. The beneficiaries were also charged to judiciously utilize the funds and use it for its purpose.

Presenting the cheques to the 35 communities at the launch of additional financing of the Abia State Agency for Community and Social Development project, held at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, the Governor represented by the Deputy Governor, Ude Okochukwu disclosed that since the assumption of office, Government has shown an uncommon determination to provide basic infrastructure to Abians with the flag off of over 30 roads across the state, rehabilitation of moribund water projects and intervention in education, health, agriculture and other essential sectors of governance.

The Governor noted that with the recent order of 50,000 boots by the Nigerian Army from the indigenous producers in Abia, Government is holding new conversations and providing new opportunities for other agencies of the federal and other state governments to patronize made in Aba products.

He listed the projects that directly affect the populace to include constructed  of federal rods to communities, health facilities, portable water projects, rural electrification, construction and rehabilitation  of schools, erosion control and agriculture development.

In his keynote address, the General Manager of Abia Community and Social Development Project, CSDP, Chinatu Njoku disclosed that the 35 communities were drawn from the seventeen Local Governments of the state.

He tasked them on judiciously utilizing the money for its purpose.

Also, the chairman of the occasion, Prof. Uche Ikonne in his speech commended the state government for the additional financing, which he said would help address the social and economic needs of rural communities.

The beneficiaries were presented with cheques totaling over 93 point 8 million naira.
