Frozen $31m: Jonathan’s Kinsmen Abandon Dame Patience – Leadership

According to a report from Leadership, the kinsmen of ex President Goodluck Jonathan from Bayelsa have asked his wife to explain how she came about the millions of dollars frozen by EFCC which she claims belongs to her.
The report said a foremost traditional ruler in the state who is known to be a close associate of Jonathan expressed surprise and asked for the rationale behind Dame Patience’s rushing to the court, when she hasn’t been invited nor questioned by EFCC.
He wondered why she will want to preempt the investigations which already linked her, to the illicit acquisition of such huge amount of money in foreign denomination.
He also reportedly asked the EFCC to look further into other illicit transactions that the former first lady must have involved herself in.
