The Traffic and Indiscipline Management Agency of Abia State, TIMAAS,has began the enforcement of "Operation Rekindle Discipline " in Abia State, aimed at bringing an end to indiscriminate parking of cars and dumping of refuse in the state, especially at the newly constructed and reconstructed roads by the present administration.

It is also geared towards sanitizing and sensitizing the people of the state on the need to live and trade in a friendly and aesthetic environment.

Speaking to newsmen after the operation in some locations in Aba,the commercial nerve centre of the state where some vehicles indiscriminately parked on the road were toyed, the Deputy General Manager of TIMAAS, Bright Ikeokwu said the state government had at different fora warned those who have converted the roads to car garage and car wash to with immediate effect remove such vehicles and trucks but all proved abortive.

According to Ikeokwu, those found culpable are to be taken for a psychiatric test, after which they will pay for toying and fine depending on the size of the vehicle.

He stressed that the exercise is not just aimed at decongesting the roads but to also inculcate in the people of the state the need to live in a clean and healthy environment.

The TIMAAS DGM emphasized that the exercise which is a continum will be extended to other parts of the state to ensure sanity.

Chairman of Clifford and School Road Spare parts Dealers, Bright Nwosu and other dealers at the market, commended the state government for such a feat and described it as a step in the right direction.

Some of the roads visited includes Echefu and it's adjoining roads of School, Clifford and Ehi Roads.
