NNPC Discovers 8 Suspected Vandals In Lagos

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu has complained of illegal oil bunkering and Petroleum smuggling in the country. He noted that such act is being carried out by Nigerians.
It was discovered that out of the multitude of oil bunkers, eight suspected vandals which consist of three Nigerians, three Ghananians, one Togolese and one Beninnoise was arrested by the Pipeline surveillance security.
During the visit to an illegal oil bunkering site at ‘Idi Mango’ in lagos, where the Atlas cove pipelines run through, many jerrycans which the oil bunkers use for their illegal acts were discovered.
Kachikwu describes such act as frustrating.
He futhered stated that an immediate solution needs to be put in place in order to curb such act and with the efforts of security personel, a lot of work should go into security pipelines.
