Nigeria’s Former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has responded to Femi Falana’s letter to the International Criminal Court linking her to the controversial $2.1 billion arms scandal, describing it as a joke of the century.

In the response which was contained in a statement by her media aide, Paul Nwabuikwu, Iweala said the letter further reveals Falana’s ignorance of the ICC mandate.

She said all efforts by the Lagos lawyer to tarnish her image at the EFCC failed, hence, the latest attempt.

The statement further stated that Falana’s latest attempt to implicate Okonjo-Iweala falsely suggests that he is suffering from an ailment that may be described as Chronic Cerebral Amnesia (CCA) because he simply has no grasp of the facts.

It however, listed some facts which were contrary to allegations by Falana, which includes, that Okonjo-Iweala has no link to the alleged misuse of $2.1billion by the office of the former National Security Adviser, the former minister was not in government when most of the Abacha funds were recovered contrary to Falana’s claim, among others.
