2,134 Staff For Bayelsa Supplementary Polls

About 2,134 staff will be deployed to Bayelsa for the supplementary January 9th the Independent National Electoral Commission in Southern Ijaw and three other Local Government Areas.

Elections are to be conducted in 101 polling units in three local governments, with a fresh election to hold in Southern Ijaw which has 425 polling units and five voting points.

INEC says each polling unit would be manned by four officers.

Deputy Director, Publicity, INEC, Nick Dazanza said the Commission would also deploy monitors and technical teams that would assist in carrying out other duties during the election.

Dazanza assured the people of Bayelsa of the readiness of the Commission to conduct the elections and stated that securities of the citizens are guaranteed.

Meanwhile, election materials have arrived the State for onward dispatch.
