Federal Government Approves 1, 000 Dollars As PTA To Christian Pilgrims

The Federal Government has approved a minimum purchase of 1,000 dollars Personal Travel Allowance, PTA, for each pilgrim in respect of the 2015 Christian pilgrimage to Israel.
The Central Bank of Nigeria disclosed this in a circular from its Trade and Exchange Department, notifying authorized dealers of a concessionary exchange rate of a hundred and sixty naira to the dollar by each intending pilgrim.
The bank noted that chairmen of each state pilgrims’ board would be allowed to collect the PTA on behalf of the intending pilgrims after due identification.
It added that the air tickets and visa requirements for the purpose of procuring the stipulated PTA had been waived while banks were advised to retain endorsed copy of each pilgrim’s passport for record purposes.
