Saudi Arabia Commiserate With Nigeria, Promises Stronger Ties

Saudi Arabian authorities have commiserated with Nigeria on the scores of death recorded at the Hajj stampede.
 
The Saudi government also assured Nigeria that it will strengthen its cultural and diplomatic relationship with the country.
 
Director General of the foreign Affairs Ministry, Makkah Region, Mohammed Ahmed gave the assurance when Nigerian delegation under the aegis of Central Coordinating Team, led by the Emir of Kano Muhammed Sanusi, visited him in Jeddah.
 
He said the complete figure of casualties in the stamped would be released once the investigative committee set up by King Salman bin Abdul Aziz has concluded its investigation.
 
He warned against politicizing the incident and commended affected countries for their patience and corporation.
 
Emir of Kano, Muhammed Sanusi admonished the Saudi authority to ensure Nigerians get better tents that will be closer to the Jamarat as efforts by the Nigerian Hajj Mission to ensure the welfare of its pilgrims was hampered by the location of their tents in Mina.
