The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu has reassured Abians that he will deliver on his campaign promises of rebuilding Abia and placing the state on the global map if elected governor of the state.

He said the need to move away from wholistic dependence on oil has become imperative, adding that Aba which is a confluence centre for other southeast and southsouth states cannot be ignored.

On roads, the PDP guber candidate revealed that the three major roads into Aba must be fixed especially Port Harcourt and Ikot Ekpene Road, with two more interjecting roads built to provide easy and quick access to the city.

Ikpeazu further said private sector participation, transparency and redistribution of wealth will be the focus of his administration, insisting that corruption will be a thing of the past.
He extolled the virtues of President  Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat, describing it as a feat for Nigeria's democracy and his party, the PDP.
Ikpeazu, who described himself as a man of modest means, also said he will sustain the peace in Abia as well as run strongly on social engineering to fill the gap between the leader and the led.
