Finally, the Sydney Australian hostage-taker, who is revealed to be Haron Moris, has been killed by the country’s Police. He was killed when the Police heard gun-shots inside the Café and storming it.

Moris, said to be inspired by Islamic State for Iraq and Levant (ISIL), died in the siege with two people, while four people including a policeman sustained injuries.

Australian Muslim leaders have disowned the self-styled Islamic cleric condemning hostage-taking, describing it as not an Islamic act. Moris pleaded guilty last year for writing threat letters to families of Australian war veterans. He was said to be standing trial for the murder of his wife before the hostage taking of early Monday morning.

There are now fears amongst Muslims communities in the city that there might be backlash against them as a result of the incident. But a campaign is building up in the country with the hash-tag “I will ride with you”.
