This is to inform members of the public, especially traders and business owners operating in Abia, that the Ministry of Trade and Investment Task Force team in Aba has been dissolved with immediate effect.

A new task force will be constituted in due course.

All members of the defunct task force are to immediately submit their identity cards and other government properties in their possession to the Permanent Secretary, ministry of trade and investment, Umuahia, as well as ensure that all goods seized from traders earlier today along Etche Road, Aba, are returned to them immediately.

We also wish to use this medium to urge traders and business owners in Aba to desist from encroaching on roads and other forms of street trading or risk swift sanctions. For the purpose of clarity, those trading along Ngwa Road, Etche Road, Azikiwe Road, Kent Street, Market Road etc are to take this as final warning before commencement of full clampdown on such illegal activities.

Furthermore, the market committee leaders of Ngwa Road Market, Aba, are hereby directed to ensure immediate evacuation of wastes removed from drains along School and Ngwa roads.

Thank you.

Chief John Okiyi Kalu

Honorable Commissioner For Trade & Investment
