Abia Assembly Adjourns Plenary in Honour of Late Anagha Ezeikpe

Abia State House of Assembly Plenary for Tuesday, 1st February, 2022.

Welcome to another Legislative Day in the 7th Abia State House of Assembly. 

The Speaker, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji led Principal Officers into the hallowed chamber. 

Rt Hon Chikwendu Enyinnaya Kalu, Member representing Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency led the opening prayer. 

The Abia State House of Assembly commenced plenary after the adoption of Votes and Proceedings of Thursday, 30th December, 2021.

ANNOUNCEMENT 

The Speaker, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji announced to the House about the death of Ezeogo Dr Anagha Ezeikpe OFR, one of the founding fathers of our dear State, Abia.

"In respect and honour of one of the founding fathers of our Dear State whom we lost to the cold hands of death, it is pertinent that the Abia State House of Assembly shows respect to this Elder Statesman, we are therefore suspending all activities in honour of this fallen hero", the Speaker announced. 

Afterwards, a minute silence was observed in honour of the deceased. 

ORDER PAPER 

In a motion moved by the Leader, Hon Solomon Akpulonu and seconded by Hon Aaron Uzodike, items on the Order Paper were deferred to be considered on another Legislative Day.

ADJOURNMENT

Hon Solomon Akpulonu, Majority Leader of the House therefore moved that plenary be adjourned to another Legislative Day.

Hon Aaron Uzodike, Member representing Aba North State Constituency seconded the motion. 

Plenary was therefore adjourned to Monday, 7th February, 2022
