NAVY.CAPT.JERRY OBIKE OGBONNA(RTD) DECLARES INTEREST TO RUN FOR ABIA NORTH SENATORIAL SEAT UNDER APGA

Navy.Capt. Jerry Obike Ogbonna(RTD) has declared his intention to run for the 2015 Senatorial Seat of Abia North,under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). The declaration  was made at the state headquarters of the party in Umuahia,the Abia State Capital.


While declaring his intention to run for the seat currently occupied by Senator Uche Chukwumerije,Navy Capt. Obike stated that the reason behind his decision to run for the seat is informed by the desire to attract development closer to the people. He added that there was need for government to pay closer attention to rural communities to get the young people engaged.


Citing the Abia North Senatorial Zone with Isuochi,Isukwuato and Arochukwu as examples,Capt.Obike revealed that these areas have raw materials for cashew,cassava and cement productions which can be converted to finished products if well harnessed and will create jobs for the teeming Abia Youths who are unemployed.
He further urged that the recommendations of the recently concluded National Conference be implemented to move the nation forward.


Capt.Obike however,promised that if elected to the upper chamber of the National Assembly in 2015,he will create four industries within a year.
The Senatorial aspirant was presented with his expression of Interest and nomination forms by the Abia State Chairman of the party,Chief Prince Ukaegbu.


Navy. Capt. Jerry Obike Ogbonna retired after 30 years of military service. He was an Abia State gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressive Grand Alliance,APGA in the 2007 general elections.
