Ifeanyi Uchendu: A Legislator par excellence

To adjudge a legislator as good, we often examine how well they are performing in representing their constituencies.
For us in Ohafia South, it has been from one profound project to the other since the emergence of Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu, the Deputy Speaker, Abia state House of Assembly.

Hon. Uchendu has not only proven to be good, but also effective and efficient at what he does. For him, being a legislator is beyond making laws. It entails utilizing every available opportunity for the interest of Ohafia South.

Just recently, he led a team of other legislators to Ohafia General hospital,  following a resolution on a motion he raised on the floor of the house which borders on  “The Need To Refurbish The Ohafia General Hospital, In Line With State Government's Efforts to Spread Access to Quality Care Delivery.”

Shortly before that, he had commenced construction of Ohafia  Health Center, Ibina - a project which is now near completion. He took over the completion of the  Akanu Skill Acquisition centre. Built Modern toilet at okagwe ohafia Daily market.

Amangwu Ohafia Skill Acquisition centre he single-handedly started from scratch is also at the final stage of completion.

At a time most lawmakers are after enriching themselves,  Hon. Uchendu is more concerned about the plight of the 'common people' who voted for his re-election. It is therefore not surprising why he's always seen giving back to his constituency.
After commissioning Amaekpu borehole project, he gave approval for another borehole in Akanu Ohafia.

While celebrating his first year in office as Deputy Speaker,  over 30 projects were listed to his credit.
He is a vibrant lawmaker who is not disconnected from members of his constituency as he often reaches out both in the good and bad times. He's played pivotal role in securing jobs for Ohafia sons and daughters, and has also set up businesses for others through his empowerment programmes.

During the lockdown occassioned by covid-19 pandemic,  Hon. Uchendu left indelible mark in the lives of vulnerable persons, as he made provision for their survival while the lock down lasted.

Today, July 16th, Hon. Uchendu took a step further. This time, he laid the foundation for the building of a Catholic Church at Elu-Ohafia. That's not all!  He would by tomorrow be initiating a water scheme project at Okon Ohafia.

It is my belief that Hon. Uchendu will continue to keep faith in the spirit and letter of his mandate, to deliver effective representation to us his constituents.
