Onyebuchi congratulates Jonathan for Ebola defeat

Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu has expressed happiness over the feat performed by the government of Goodluck Jonathan, by successfully overcoming the Ebola virus in the county. In an exclusive interview with Factnewsonline on the matter, he said he was feeling fulfilled on the complete defeat of the Ebola virus in Nigeria.

The minister who refused to take glory for the success said congratulations should go to the President and Nigeria people for making it possible for his office to able to confront the virus and conquer it.

“I am happy. I feel fulfilled. I am proud of my country, Nigeria. I congratulate our leader and President Goodluck Jonathan and the entire nation” he said.

Like the minister, Nigerians both inside and outside of government have been in joyful mood since they got the news from  World Health Organisation (WHO) that the country has become Ebola free, after a 42 day period with no new cases reported.

“Nigeria is now free of Ebola,” declared WHO representative Rui Gama Vaz as he spoke in a news conference in Abuja, the country’s capital yesterday, Monday, 20, 2014.

Continuing, Vaz had also declared that the virus was gone for now. “The outbreak in Nigeria has been defeated. This is a spectacular success story that shows to the world that Ebola can be contained” Vaz said.
