Nigeria international striker, Brown Ideye scored his first goal for West Bromwich Albion in Wednesday’s League Cup game against Hull.

The striker, West Brom’s record-signing, netted from close range in the 15th minute of the contest as the Baggies won a thrilling contest 3-2 at the Hawthorns.

Ideye’s goal came at a price though as he got injured in the process of scoring and was subsequently forced off in the 21st minute with the Greek, Georgios Samaras taking his place.

WBA however battled gamely in Ideye’s absence and notched up a memorable victory that will last long in the hearts of the club’s supporters.

Ideye however refused to let his injury dampen his mood as he promptly took to Twitter to congratulate his teammates following the dramatic win.

Two other Nigerians, Victor Anichebe and Omatsone Aluko both took part in the game.

Anichebe was on for the Baggies for 59 minutes while Hull’s Aluko replaced Robert Brady at the death.

The reward for the win for WBA is a fourth round trip to Bournemouth.
