The Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence Dr Samuel Chukwuemeka Kalu Uche (JP) has reacted to the statement making rounds, where he was quoted to have said that 'the roads in Abia are nothing to write home about'.

Uche, during a press briefing to mark the end of his apostolic visit to Umuahia Arch diocese, had talked about his experience in Abia state, the state of Igbos in the country and leadership in Nigeria.

However, speaking to our correspondent in a brief telephone interview on wednesday,  he said he was quoted out of context.

“I was quoted out of context. We are in an election period and that, I quite understand. As a religiuos leader I am careful not to say what will incite the public," he said.

He declined to comment on Abia roads and maintained that he has no candidate for the 2019 election
