The Special Adviser to the Abia State governor on E-governance, Mr. Obed Nnaji Asiegbu, has debunked a media report of an alleged rift between his principal and former governor of the state Sen. Theodore Orji, currently the senator representing Abia Central Zone in the National Assembly.

An Abia-based tabloid had reported that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s relationship with his supposed political godfather, Orji had gone strained over the latter’s second term bid.

Nnaji-Asiegbu, while speaking with newsmen on Thursday said, “As far as I am concerned, there is no issue between Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and Senator T.A Orji. They are having a wonderful and cordial relationship.

“Anybody coming to tell you that the governor is having issues with his predecessor over his second term bid is being mischievous.

“All these are propaganda from the opposition aimed at sabotaging the efforts of the two great leaders.

“Senator Orji has in several occasions, endorsed the governor for a second term come 2019 and those of us who worked and still working under the two leaders are well-accommodated.

“There is no issue whatsoever. The governor and his predecessor cannot be distracted from bringing dividends of democracy to Abians. “The governor and Senator Orji are focused and committed in ensuring that the Abia citizenry feel the impacts of the leadership. They are committed towards the development of the state,” he said.
