The Central Bank of Nigeria says it will sell 10,000 dollars to each of the newly approved 2,839 Bureaux De Change operators in the country.

President of the Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria, Alhaji Aminu Gwadabe, said the decision was based on the fact that demand for dollars was still low.

This is because business activities are yet to pick up, after the holidays.
Gwadabe explained that the CBN had promised to continue the intervention to close the widening gap between the official market rate at 199 naira per dollar and the parallel market rate of 265 naira per dollar.

Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Nigeria, has issued new guidelines for the operations of Bureau De Change in the country.
