Army Relocates Jos Headquarters To Maidugri In Fight Against Insurgents

As part of intensified efforts at fighting the Boko Haram insurgents, the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army in Jos, the Plateau State Capital has been relocated to Damaturu.
 
The relocation which was feared towards meeting the December deadline as directed by the President was to also facilitate arms movement, ammunitions, logistics as well as enhance rapid enforcement and improvement of the welfare of troops.
The Army headquarters is also said to have deployed 3,032 personnel granted pardon by the committee get up by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur BUrutai. Dogs from the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police, NACMP, have also been fully inducted into the theatre of operation, while experts from the Nigerian Army Engineers Explosive Ordinance Device, have been fully deployed to detonate mines planted by the insurgents in various locations in the Northeast.
