Foremost Nigerian movie producer and multiple award winner, Amaka Igwe (Nee Isaac Eneh) is dead

She reportedly died from asthma related complications while on location at Udi in Enugu state. Married with 3 children, 51 year old Amaka produced household titles such as Checkmate, Fuji House of commotion and award winning Forever. She is from Enugu State, South East Nigeria.

Aunty Amaka as she is popularly called in online social media circles died while preparing for the production of another Igbo movie in the beautiful Udi terrain. She was a writer, producer, director as well as the owner of Amaka Igwe Studios. Her work has received local and international acclaim with President Jonathan recently conferring her with award of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) alongside  5 others from Nollywood.

Amaka who recently celebrated her marriage anniversery graduated from the University of Ibadan was among the early practitioners that effectively transformed nollywood to the current multi billion dollars industry and second only to Hollywood.
