The birth of a baby in a family, particularly set of twins should be a thing of joy to every couple, their financial status not withstanding. But the reverse is the case for Mr. And Mrs. Chimereze Onwueme.

Mr.. Chimereze One-year, an operator of a Garri grinding machine,  is from Assigns Village, Umuala Nsulu in Usual Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State.  The wife, Ogechi is a farmer and engages in menial jobs to assist the husband in taking care of the family.
Recently, the wife who is already a mother of four was delivered of a set of twins,a boy and a girl. Owning to the inability of the husband to foot the hospital bill due to lack of funds, the mother and her babies were discharged after the payment of the bill by kind hearted members of the community.
A few days later, the baby girl died, while the boy that was christened Chidera, meaning what God has written, remained alive as a consolation for the parents.

Sadly, the couple who live in a mud house did not have a premonition that another calamity await them. While they were fast asleep on Sunday July 19,at about 1am some unknown gunmen gained access into their house and abducted the baby.
Mr. Onwuneme and his wife while narrating the story said, the abduction of their new baby remains a mystery to them.

The villagers set up a search party that combed the entire village and even beyound without the trace of the baby and his abductors. At the time of filing this report, the women of Assigns Village are seeking the intervention of God by prayer and fast.

It will be one of the miracles of the 21st century for baby Chidera to be discovered considering the increasing cases of sale of babies at exorbitant prices to childless couples and for other purposes.
