Abia on the path to infrastructural/economic development.

Having observed Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu's speeches, actions and commitment to duty upon swearing in as the 4th executive governor of Abia state on the 29th of may 2015 till date.

I became more than ever before convinced that Abia is truly on the path of true and sustainable development in both economic and infrastructural development of the state.

There is no point stressing the fact that Aba the commercial hub of Abia state and indeed Igbo land needs urgent and sustainable infrastructural rebirth that will in turn power the economic renascence of the state.

Despite the backlog of unpaid salary arrears which the Okezie Ikpeazu administration inherited and has promised to clear, the governor has been carrying on with every sense of  responsibility to duty and  not adducing excuses as to why he will not perform optimally.

It is also not a hidden theory that who ever wants to get Abia right will first of all get Aba right by creating a conducive environment that will attract investment locally and internationally  and resurrect the commercial spirit of the town which had gone into comatose due to lack of attention by other administrations.

Dr. Ikpeazu upon assumption of office made it imperative that the focus of his administration is to bring back the lost glory of Aba and once that is achieved he would have succeeded in reviving the economy of the state which will in turn impact on every other sector in the state.

What has really stunted the development of Abia state is lack of commitment by its  leaders, if the administration of Dr. Ikpeazu can sustain the tempo within which he is pursuing the Aba renewal  program I assure every Abian that there is hope for Abia despite the challenges we are facing now, that very soon commercial activities which the state is known for will spring back to life, that industries will find their way back to Aba and the commercial town will beam back to life, the state generally will experience a boost in commercial activities and the ultimate effect will be an increase in the states IGR and employment for Abia youths.

Dr. Ikpeazu also promised to run Aba not with only the allocation that accrues to the state monthly from the federal purse but he had a vision of tapping from the abundant human and material resources which abound in Abia by improving the infrastructure of the state as that has been the only factor hindering economic advancement of Abia as a state.

Our duty as Abians who wants the progress of the state should be to support  the present administration led by Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu to achieve this dream which will in turn return Abia to its pride of place in the comity of States.
