The controversy generated by the recent elections of principal officers of the National Assembly may soon be resolved as the national caucus of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to meet with the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) on Tuesday in a bid to take a final stand on the issue.

Nasarawa State Governor, Alhaji Tanko Al-Makura, gave this indication on Sunday night.

In an interview with journalists in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital on Monday, Governor Al-Makura regretted the crisis that ensued from the election into the offices of the principal officers of both chambers of the National Assembly, describing the situation as “unfortunate” but expressed confidence that the ruling party would come out of the crisis stronger and more united.

“There is nothing abnormal about what happened. It is politics and this is because the APC is a conglomerate of varying interests.

“I consider what happened in the National Assembly as something natural and in spite of the bad blood this generated, we remain one united family,” Al-Makura told journalists in the presence Senator Abdullahi Adamu, a former governor of the state.
