President Goodluck Jonathan has said he will attend the inauguration of his successor Gen. Muhammadu Buhari on May the 29th
This puts to an end widespread allegation that the president was trying to boycott the event by proposing to handover on May the 28th, before the actual date of may the 29th.

President Jonathan had said he wants to attend the event as a guest, noting that all over the world, including America; outgoing presidents do not have a role to play on inauguration day.
Meanwhile, President Jonathan and the President-elect Muhammadu BUhari may clash over the proposed May 28 handover date.

However, the All Progressives Congress are said to be uncomfortable with the hand-over date proposed by the outgoing administration.
Adding that if President Jonathan hands over on the may the 28th, who will account for the hairs before the morning of the 29th when the chief Justice of the Federation is to administer the oath of allegiance on Buhari.
