Ask Abians to vote for Dr Okezie Ikpeazu

President Goodluck Jonathan has noted that for Aba to be restored back to its former glory as Enyimba city and the Japan of Africa, the need for federal intervention has become imperative.
The President stated this at an interactive session with Aba residents at the Aba Sports Club on Tuesday March 24.
The session was held after the commissioning of the phase 1 of the 504MW Simple Cycle Alaoji Gas Plant and a tour of Geometric Power Plant by the president.

President of the Aba Sports Club and Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association, Abia State Chapter, Onwuchekwa Uwa, in his speech appreciated the president for his visit, with a plea that the Abia State Polytechnic be made a Federal Polytechnic, as well as the Abia State Teaching hospital which he said has recieved a boost from the state government. He however, assured the president of a massive vote from medical practitioners in the state come March 28.

An Aba Businessman and Industralist, John Udeagbala reminded the president of the deplorable condition of federal roads in the city, including Port Harcourt Road and Ikot Ekpene Road, while demanding that the roads which have become a death trap should be urgently fixed to avoid further decay.

Governor Theodore Orji who reassured the president of the vote of Abians at the polls, enjoined Abians to vote the People's Democratic Party's candidate, Okezie Ikpeazu at the governorship polls to bring about the needed revolution in Aba.
The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN, also urged the president to give the Geometric Power Plant the needed support to help ease the plight of Aba manufacturers in the area of electricity. They also lamented the impact of the exchange rate to manufacturers.

President Jonathan in his response thanked Aba residents and people of the Southeast for their support, while assuring that the demands of the people will be carefully looked into and implemented to give Aba the expected lift.
In his words "Everyone in the world knows that my strong base is the Southeast. I can't thank the Southeast enough and anything i can do for the Southeast i will do it. But there is nothing i can do to ever thank the Southeast enough because nobody can ever pay the mother for the breast milk."
The president also pleaded with Abians to vote for him and all PDP candidates in the state for effective delivery.
President who described the Abia PDP guber candidate, Okezie Ikpeazu as a humble and brilliant young man urged Abians to cast their votes for him on April 11. He also assured that the second phase of the Alaoji power plant will soon be commisioned to further boost power supply and industrial activities at Aba.
