Army begins trial of General, 22 others

After three consecutive postponements, the Nigerian Army on Monday , March 9, began the trial of 22 officers, including a Brigadier General.
This is coming as the counsel of one of the officers said the admission by the military hierarchy that they just procured weaponry is enough reason not to try the soldiers.

The closed-door trial was held at the Officers Mess of the 9th Brigade Headquarters, Ikeja,Lagos, amidst tight security.
The soldiers on trial were among those arrested and indicted for mutiny in the ongoing war against the Islamist Sect, Boko Haram.

The charge against the soldiers was the disobedience to their superior officers to take part in the operation.
The trial was scheduled to begin on January 16, but was postponed at the last minute on January 19, but was again moved
