Theo Walcott on target as Arsenal survive Leicester scare

Arsenal survived a second-half fight-back at Emirates Stadium as a miserable few days for Leicester boss Nigel Pearson ended with a 2-1 defeat.

The Gunners appeared to be cruising towards victory as goals from Laurent Koscielny and Theo Walcott gave them a two-goal lead.

However, Foxes boss Pearson would have been happy with the efforts of his players at the break with Riyad Mehraz, in particular, causing Arsenal problems.

And the Algerian was involved as Andrej Kramaric scored his first Leicester goal to pull his side back into the contest, beating David Ospina with a fine drive.

The Croatian’s goal was full of power, and he should have followed the same tactic as he spurned an excellent chance to give the Foxes a share of the points.

Kramaric found himself on the end of an excellent break, again involving Mahrez, but 17 yards out and with only Ospina to beat he elected to chip the Arsenal keeper, who saved comfortably.

The Gunners were able to see out the win that takes them into the top four for 24 hours at least, a slight black mark coming near the end as substitute Aaron Ramsey limped off injured.
