Six people have been confirmed dead and several others injured as a result of yesterday’s twin bomb blast at Kantin Kwari market in Kano. The Police confirmed the deaths and explained that the blast was carried out by two female bombers who came under the pretence of wanting to buy some textile materials. The Police confirmed also that the girls also died in the explosion.

According to the police, all roads leading to the market has been cordoned off to make sure that looters do not get into the market, under the guise of sympathising with the people, to begin to loot people’s shops. The Police also promised it was ensuring that no more bombs were within the vicinity, which the terrorists may detonate to cause more mayhem.

Nigerians have been lamenting the continuous death of innocent Nigerians through terrorist attacks. There was an echo of such condemnation yesterday at the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) convention taking place in Lagos. The party condemned the deaths and held a minute silence in their honour of the dead.
