The United States has debunked claims that it refused selling military equipment required to fight Boko Haram.

US State Department spokesperson,Jen Paski at a press briefing noted that the US had in the past six months provided and approved sales of military equipment to Nigeria's armed forces. Adding that the country has not only sold military equipment to Nigeria but shared intelligence, begun training of new army batalion and held many high-leveled meetings with Nigerian authorities on best ways of addressing the threats by the insurgents.

Paski insisted that the only denial was the Cobra attack helicopters to Nigeria owing to concerns of Nigeria's ability to use and maintain the helicopter in her efforts at defeating the terrorist Boko Haram group.

Nigerian Ambassador to the United States,Adebowale Adefuye had earlier in the week told members of the Council in Foreign Relations that Nigeria was fustrated at the US refusal to deliver weapons needed to defeat Boko Haram, because of its concern on Nigeria's human rights records.
