Maria Nwachi, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) state assembly aspirant for Afikpo North-east Constituency, has expressed joy over her recent clearance by the party to contest for its ticket.

Speaking to Factnewsonline, the social media icon expressed satisfaction with the party on what she described as the transparent way it conducted the exercise. Nwachi, who is popularly known as Afikpo Chic, was overjoyed. She said that it was God who did it for her, and as such promised to work very hard so as not to disappoint God or man.

"What is happening to me is that God cracked my palm kernel for me, and I will not disappoint God, and I will certainly not disappoint man" she said. She went on to say that her clearance was a very good reason to strive at all times to live by example.

Overwhelmed with joy she went on to declare: " It was a very stressful exercise; very stressful, but I was very happy the way it ended. I was happy that at the end of the day PDP cleared me to run for the state house of assembly which is a very big honour."

Nwachi took the opportunity to praise the PDP for being transparent and fair in carrying out the exercise. She explained that many of the aspirants who were new politicians almost succumbed to fear as fear-mongers told stories of possible manipulation of the exercise to their disadvantage. "It shows that the PDP is a very fair party" she declared.

"During the exercise' she said 'everybody came to realise that PDP is indeed one of the fairest parties there is on earth, not only in Nigeria. You were cleared on your merit and nothing more".

Nwachi took time to declared her intention of becoming a pace-setting legislator in Nigeria: "I am going to make the best legislator in Nigeria. no one will see my back. I will make you proud; I will make you shout goodness is good!"

Nwachi, owner of one of the most vibrant Facebook groups in Nigeria, also promised to bring smiles to the faces of, not only the people of her constituency, but also the entire Ebonyi State. She went on to express the belief that enough resources exist in government, which is enough to take care of the suffering masses.
