Abia Guber: Let’s Break The Jinx Of Imposition, I’ve No Godfather, Igbokwe Tells Obingwa, Aba PDP Stakeholders

The Ekweremekwe Movement by Abia governorship aspirant and philanthropist, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe aka Don Lulu continued with its engagements with the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Stakeholders and Delegates today 12th May 2022 with visits to Obingwa, Aba North and South Local Government Areas, LGAs, to preach the message of hope and ‘freedom from fear’ that the PDP youthful aspirant present.

 

At each of the locations visited, the party faithful sang and danced to melodious songs in praise of Mayor Lucky Igbokwe for his courage, and urged him to come and rescue Abia State as a tested and trusted private sector operator. The PDP stakeholders and delegates were excited about the prospects of a Mayor Lucky Igbokwe governorship as they unanimously pledged to work towards its actualisation come 2023.

 

 In his address to the party delegates, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe maintained that he has come to reform the system and provide dividends of democracy to Abia people, while insisting that the people should commit themselves to breaking the jinx of imposition of candidates which has become like a phenomenon in the state.

 

The Ohuhu Umuahia born entrepreneur and entertainment icon who held his audience spell bound in his presentations, said he is running on his individual strength and merit because he has no ‘godfather’ behind him except God the Father. Mayor Igbokwe noted that Abians have been taken for granted by the leadership and must determine to change their situation as he presents himself a better option to the service of Abia state.

 

He called on the stakeholders to do away with clannish sentiments because it’s an available tool in the hands of politicians to divide the people and take away their right to choose their leaders, and added that he is not a desperate politician but concerned about the welfare of the people.

 

Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu) said as a private individual and through the Don Lulu Foundation which he established, he has been able to build houses not only for widows, but for homeless and miserable people in the society to help ameliorate their sufferings, as well as supported youth empowerment programmes. To him if he can do this much as a private person with little resources available, there would be no limit to what he can deliver using the instrument of government.

 

The Obingwa LGA Chairman, Elder Seth Agomuo, encouraged Mayor Igbokwe to continue with his activities believing that it’s God that gives power. He asked him to continue from where Gov Okezie Ikpeazu stopped because he has laid the foundation, while he wished Don Lulu and his team success.

 

Hon Chukwudi Dike, the zonal secretary of the party said they have refused to be used and dumped like tissue paper, promising that 2023 election would mark a turning point in the history of Abia State.
